Author: Lynn Haraldson

For more than 25 years, I've been writing about love, change, grief, and (occasionally) politics, trusting that there is more that unites than divides us. When I address weight-ish issues these days, it’s through a different lens than when I wrote my Lynn’s Weigh blog (2005-2015). May it–and my scale–rest in peace. I was 33 and blond when I started my writing career. Now, 58 and gray, I feel like (with apologies to The Carpenters) I’ve only just begun to live…and write.

Show Up for Goodbye

But hospice is its own kind of limbo, isn’t it? It’s crowded with feelings, but offers no crystal ball to tell us how we’ll feel when that life is actually over.

Man vs Bear: Lynn’s Version

June 29, 2024 ~ Lynn Haraldson ~ 6 Comments

Not surprisingly, many women chose the bear. Also not surprisingly, many men chimed in with their mansplainations about why women were wrong.

Smokey, the Old Canoe Paddler

June 17, 2024June 17, 2024 ~ Lynn Haraldson ~ 4 Comments

Smokey was sneaky. Houdini-like. He was born under a “wand’rin’ star, or as Jim liked to say, he paddled his own canoe.
